The purpose of the exhibition is to introduce Swedish design in Iran. We want the exhibition in Tehran gives a picture of Sweden as a multifaceted country with many influences and a wide range of form expression. The exhibition calls attention to several different focal points, a number of interesting directions Swedish contemporary design may have. Those in mind are:

. Sustainable design
. Conceptual design
. Swedish design student work
. Everyday use objects

With this concept we aim to create deeper understanding and give a more balanced picture of both countries. Therefore we want to show the strength and qualities of the design process power to stand unprejudiced to the surrounding world. We focus on cases such as function studies, research, and storytelling.
The exhibition starts with a short introduction of Swedish Form and Design History and continues with different examples representing the directions described above. The exhibition captures the design conception with width and depth, and the visitor can freely choose to dig deeper into his/her subjects of interest.
During five days, june 20-25, Swedish design companies are going to be presented to the Iranian public. To this event we plan to invite Iranian media, gallery owners, import companies as well as other of the markets target groups and opinion founders. In our ambition to mediate knowledge of, and engender interest for Swedish design we plan to invite students from art and design colleges and universities. Through contact with local culture associations we also aim to optimize our exposure and reach a wider audience.
