About us
The story behind the project
Project Iran is inspired by the Swedish TV program Kobra which showed an episode of art and culture in Tehran. After watching the show the project’s founders decided to arrange a study tour to Iran for Swedish students. In order to reach a larger target audience and make a larger impact, the founders collaborated with the art producer at Lava, Kulturhuset in Stockholm to organize a photo exhibit.
Project leading
Sara Kavianpour, co-founder of Project Iran made a small stop in Lund and Aarhus, Denmark before she landed at Stockholm School of Economics and finally fell in love. Sara is currently working part-time at one of Sweden’s largest banks and recently completed her engagement in the student project Exchange Brazil. Equipped with gold in boxing, a vision and a great team, she hopes to make Project Iran a student project worth remembering.

The design process and research is an important part in her creation. To create products that take account to human needs with a touch of joy is something that is constantly challenging her. It is a great privilege to have a part in Project Iran and introduce Swedish design to her country of origin.

My name is Rosmarie Sundström and I am doing the book of this project. I have been studying journalism and global development for three years. Now I work with project management and communication in Sweden’s biggest handicap youth organization, the Swedish Celiac Youth Association. I am very happy to be in this Iran project and I look much forward to go to Iran. It is interesting to follow the work of this project. I think the result will be great and that we can do a good documentation about it in the book.
